I disconnected the plug from the sensor and the fan didn't come on which leads me to believe its the relay. I dropped by my favorite local mechanic this afternoon and used his computer system to view the cooling system diagram to locate the sensor for fan#1. Sam – thanks for the explaination as its very clear to me now how the sensor switch works. If you unplug it and it doesnt run , the next thing to check is your #1 relay. If it is just the switch( bad), then as soon as you pull the connector from the switch( coolent hot, ignition on) the radiator fan will run.
What is wrong with the system and how do you fix it? The high pressure measures 235 psi and the low pressure side is measuring -3 psi. You need to know the high pressure as well as the low pressure. If you can tell me what pressures those are, based purely on red or green, you're better than most. You need to replace the hoses, the drier, and then evacuate to a couple atmospheres for an hour or longer before recharging.
With it costing more which it does near me, personally I would rather do more oil changes with 5-30 than to switch it up for more expensive stuff and either spend more cash there or do less oil changes. They end up getting low oil level lights when its thinner and stuff which are erroneous messages. I know a million factors influence things but i use this car mostly to work and back so the drive time and traffic is usually about the same. Just an update I used mobil 1 ow-30 full synthetic last oil change about a month ago. (though I think later 1ZZ's specified 0w-20? I may be wrong, but if that is the case it may actually be safe to use in an 8th gen) I personally run a 0w-40 usually.
